Welcome to Keltok Nor. You have found yourself on a Star Trek Roleplay or Simm that is rather unique in concept and implementation. As a community of writers, we welcome you to become a productive part. The first thing to do is to learn a little about this community. This site was founded on a set of ideas, and most prominent among them is a love for the unusual. Too many sites try to avoid conflict or to rely on very standard archetypes, and Keltok Nor exists as a place where conflict in writing is valued and ‘different’ characters can be more fully explored.
Set in the wake of a viciously destructive war, it is not expected that your character will have been a Saint or holds no grudges. Ill-feelings are expected in this setting, and disagreements in-character don’t mean that writers have disputes. In this sense we may have a more ‘professional’ feel, but please do not be intimidated.
If you are a new writer, the very best thing you can do is to work with experienced writers. This is how everyone in this hobby has learned, and all of us have started as new at one point. It is a central belief on Keltok Nor that being new is nothing to be ashamed of, and we will work with you to help you find a place in our setting.
